# What decides the cost of a company website in the Gulf: the UAE, Saudi Arabia and beyond

> The cost of a company website in the Gulf, whether you are in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or a neighbouring market, is decided by six things: the number of distinct page designs, whether it needs English and Arabic, how much content has to be written, which systems it must connect to, how much motion or 3D the brand wants, and who maintains it after launch. Page count matters far less than people expect. This is how OGB Labs, a website and ecommerce development company in Muscat, Oman, with teams in Dubai and Riyadh, breaks down every quote. For budgets in Omani rial, see [website cost in Oman](https://www.ogblabs.com/guides/website-cost-oman).

## The six cost drivers

Every quote we have written breaks down into the same six parts. Ask any agency to show you these six lines and you can compare proposals fairly.

This guide covers the Gulf as a whole, with the [UAE](https://www.ogblabs.com/locations/uae) and [Saudi Arabia](https://www.ogblabs.com/locations/saudi-arabia) in mind, and gives no price list. For 2026 figures in Omani rial, read our guide to [website cost in Oman](https://www.ogblabs.com/guides/website-cost-oman).

- Distinct page designs. A home page, a service page and a contact page are three designs. Twenty service pages built on one design are still one design. Design time, not page count, drives cost.
- Languages. A bilingual English and Arabic site is not two sites, but it is more than one: right-to-left layouts, Arabic typography, mirrored components and two sets of content to load and maintain. Our [Arabic website RTL checklist](https://www.ogblabs.com/guides/arabic-website-rtl-checklist) lists what changes.
- Content. Writing, photography and translation are usually the slowest part of a project. Sites where the client supplies finished content launch weeks earlier and cost less.
- Integrations. A contact form is simple. A form that creates a lead in your CRM, sends a WhatsApp reply and books a calendar slot is a small piece of software.
- Motion and 3D. Scroll animation and WebGL make a strong first impression and take real engineering to keep fast. Use them where the story needs them.
- Care after launch. Hosting, monitoring, updates, security patches and small changes. A monthly plan is cheaper than emergency fixes.

## How website projects are usually priced

Most agencies in the region price in one of three ways. Fixed price after discovery: a short paid or free discovery phase defines the scope, then the build is quoted as one number. Time and materials: you pay for hours or days used, which suits projects that will change as they go. Retainer: a monthly fee for ongoing design and development, common once a site is live.

OGB Labs works fixed-price after discovery for new builds, so the cost is known before the build starts, and on a monthly plan for care and improvements afterwards. To compare agencies line by line, use our checklist for [choosing a web development company](https://www.ogblabs.com/guides/choose-web-development-company-oman).

## Website builder, WordPress or a custom build

The platform sets the floor and the ceiling of the budget. The table below is how we explain the trade-off to clients.

**Platform choice and what it does to cost**

| | Website builder | WordPress | Next.js + headless CMS |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Upfront cost | Lowest | Low to medium | Medium |
| Ongoing cost | Subscription | Hosting plus plugin upkeep | Hosting plus optional care plan |
| Speed and SEO control | Limited | Good with effort | Full control |
| Arabic and right-to-left | Depends on template | Depends on theme | Designed in |
| Custom integrations | Rarely | Through plugins | Anything with an API |
| Best for | Very small sites | Blogs and content sites | Sites that must win customers |

## How to keep the cost down without a weak site

1. Decide what the site must achieve in one sentence, for example "get qualified enquiries from facilities managers in the UAE". Everything that does not serve it is optional.
2. Start with fewer page designs and more pages built on them. Add designs later when the content exists to justify them.
3. Have content ready before design starts. Even rough text and real photos remove weeks of waiting.
4. Launch in one language if the second language's content is not ready, but build the layout for both from day one.
5. Put integrations in phase two unless they are the reason for the site.
6. Agree a monthly care plan up front so small changes never become new projects.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does a bilingual site cost twice as much?

No. The design and build are shared. The extra cost is the right-to-left layout work, Arabic typography and the second set of content, which is usually well under double.

### Where can I find website prices for Oman?

In our separate guide to [website cost in Oman](https://www.ogblabs.com/guides/website-cost-oman), which gives starting prices in Omani rial by type of site. This guide explains the cost drivers that apply across the Gulf.

### How long does a company website take?

In our projects a marketing site takes one to eight weeks from kickoff to launch, and the biggest variable is how quickly content is ready.

### Is a cheap template site a bad idea?

Not always. For a very small business that needs a presence and a contact number, a template is fine. It becomes a problem when the site has to rank, convert or integrate with other systems.

### Do you charge for hosting?

Hosting on Vercel or your own cloud is billed at cost. Our monthly care plan covers monitoring, updates and small changes.

### Can we pay in stages?

Yes. Fixed-price projects are usually paid in stages tied to discovery, design approval, launch and handover.
